Application for Reduced Subscription Fee

Members who are experiencing financial hardship or unemployment may apply for a reduction of subscription fee.

Application Requirements

Members (except for Member-in-Retirement) who are facing financial hardship* due to the following reasons can apply for a 50% reduction of the full membership fee.

  • Medical condition
  • Pro-family reasons
  • Unemployment

*Financial hardship is defined as unemployment for a minimum of one year since 1 January in the preceding year before the year of subscription.

The Institute may also grant special waivers for members who are terminally ill on a discretionary basis.

Singapore CA Qualification Candidate

An Associate (ISCA) who is a Singapore CA Qualification candidate can enjoy complimentary membership by declaring his/her candidacy status upon renewal.

Application Timeline

Submit your application online by 31 January of the year of renewal before renewing your membership.

All requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and members will be informed via email on the outcome of their appeal.

Please take note that a member can be granted fee reductions for a maximum of 5 times throughout his membership with the Institute.

FAQs

Request for reduction of fees may be granted to any member on grounds of financial hardship due to medical condition or pro-family reasons. These may include but not limited to the following circumstances.  All requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Onerous caring duties for close family member
  • Long term illness and/or serious ill health
  • Extended maternity/paternity leave
  • Unemployment to pursue further studies

A member who has been granted a reduced fee will be automatically assessed for CPE exemption. CPE exemption might be granted during the period when the member was not employed.
